Therapy for Men in Dallas, TX

Change the Patterns That Keep Repeating

Experiential therapy for men ready to move beyond just talking.

The same frustrating dynamics keep playing out in your relationships, and simply trying harder hasn’t fixed the problem. You are willing to look inward, but you need a direct approach to actually understand what is happening beneath the surface.

What brings you here

What you are actually dealing with

Most men who reach out aren’t in crisis. Instead, something has made your ongoing patterns impossible to ignore. A relationship ended, a conflict with a parent won’t go away, or you realized how much you accommodate others at the expense of your own needs.

I frequently see men who people-please as an automatic reflex. You might struggle to be direct or completely lose touch with your own needs. This leaves you giving more than you receive and performing a version of yourself that doesn’t match how you feel internally.

These struggles connect directly to relational patterns formed early in life. We will explore what it cost you to have needs, how you learned to manage a parent’s mood, and how you measured your worth. Together, we uncover these origins and actively change how they dictate your life today.

How I work

Working directly with the emotional root to create change

The problem with some approaches is that they are too focused on managing the situations as they arise. The therapist might give you advice to help you put out each fire as it ignites. However, the core pattern remains because it was never worked with directly.

My approach is experiential. Using Coherence Therapy and EMDR, we go precisely to where the pattern formed and change it there. Rather than handling problems as they come up, we update the emotional learning driving your actions so that the problem stops occurring. This makes our work active, collaborative, and direct.

I am trained in enmeshment treatment through the Dr. Kenneth Adams model. I draw on Internal Family Systems and Schema Therapy when they fit your needs. I also facilitate an ongoing men’s codependency group. My years of providing mental health advising to fraternities and emerging adult men also inform my clinical experience.

About Me

Before I was a therapist, I served as a fraternity chapter president and provided mental health consulting for Greek organizations at several large universities. I worked extensively with young men on building healthier mental health cultures. This background gives me a clear lens focused heavily on complex relational dynamics and unspoken societal norms.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about therapy for men

Is this regular therapy or is it specifically for men?

+

My clinical training, group facilitation work, and professional background in men’s spaces heavily shape my approach. If you are skeptical that therapy can truly help, I encourage you to openly bring that skepticism into our first conversation.

I have tried therapy before and it did not feel right. Why would this be different?

+

For many men, previous therapy meant fifty minutes of talking without generating any tangible change. My approach is not only insight based. We actively go to the deep emotional level where your patterns were initially formed. By utilizing experiential models like Coherence Therapy and EMDR, we address issues at their root instead of merely discussing them logically. If you felt like you were just spinning your wheels in standard talk therapy, let’s schedule a 15-minute conversation to see if this approach is a better fit.

Do you work with codependency and enmeshment specifically or is that just one item on a list?

+

I am formally trained in enmeshment treatment through the Dr. Kenneth Adams model, specifically designed for resolving complicated parental enmeshment. I am listed as an enmeshment-informed therapist on his professional site.
