Frequently asked questions

Common questions about reaching out

What happens after I reach out?
+

I read every message and respond within 48 hours. If it seems like a possible fit, I'll suggest a free 15-minute call to talk through what you're looking for. That call is a chance to get a sense of each other before committing to anything.

Do I have to do the consult call? Can I just book a session?
+

Yes, generally a consult call is required. This is so that I can make sure you're a good fit for my approach and that outpatient therapy is the appropriate level of care.

What’s the difference between the consult call and a first session?
+

The consult call is 15 minutes, free, and conversational. A first session is a full intake appointment and is the beginning of actual therapy.

How long until I hear back?
+

Within 48 hours.

I’m not sure therapy is right for me — is it still okay to reach out?
+

Yes. You don’t need to have it figured out. If something here resonated and you’re wondering if it’s worth a conversation, that’s reason enough.

What information do I need to get started?
+

Not much. For the consult call, you just need to know why you're looking for therapy. If you decide to move forward after that, I'll ask for your full name, email, and date of birth to send intake forms through TherapyNotes. Clinical work is handled through the Institute for Relational Recovery (IRR).
